Around the Fireplace… Holiday Traditions

From December 3, 2016 to January 8, 2017 © Château Ramezay – Musée et site historique de Montréal Photo : Michel Pinault

Every Holiday season, five of the Château’s fireplaces will be sumptuously decorated according to a particular theme. Each mantelpiece will explain the origin of a specific Christmas tradition: Christmas cards, Christmas stockings, advent calendars and more – it’ll be well worth gathering around the fireside!

Lumières sous la ville

Lumières sous la ville

Opening April 2017

Inspired by the publication Lumières sous la ville : Quand l’archéologie raconte Montréal, and for the City’s 375th anniversary, the Château Ramezay is presenting an exhibit featuring the archeology of Montréal. Visitors will have direct access to the wealth of research findings in this field.

This book, published in fall 2016 by Recherches amérindiennes du Québec, was written under the direction of archeologists Anne-Marie Balac and François C. Bélanger.

To get a taste of what’s in store for you, before seeing these treasures for yourself, pick up a copy of the book today at the Château Ramezay boutique.
