Volunteering has been at the heart of our institution since its establishment in 1895. More than 100 people are currently involved in the Château`s daily life. Thanks to their time and energy, the Château is able to provide the public with human contact and several authentic and memorable activities: guided tours, summer events, craft workshops, golf tournament, etc.
Everyone is cordially invited to join the Château Ramezay’s big family as a volunteer and help make our site lively.
You have several options: you can offer your time for specific activities, such as vernissages or the annual golf tournament, or become a volunteer guide (for guided tours).
Being a volunteer guide at the Château Ramezay is an opportunity not only to transmit our history, but also to be part of a dynamic group of enthusiastic people. Volunteers often organize social events, group meals and tours at other cultural institutions. Training for aspiring guides is provided by experienced guides, who enthusiastically share their knowledge.
Each year, the Château Ramezay provides guided tours to thousands of visitors of all types. There are students (from elementary to university level), many groups of francization newcomers, and an increasing number of Québec and foreign tourists who want to learn more about the history of Montréal and Québec.
In short, if you are looking for an interesting and rewarding way to spend your free time, at the Château Ramezay you’ll have an opportunity to do people-centred volunteer work, tailored to enthusiastic personalities.
In addition, you’ll have many privileges as a volunteer:
