Fundraising Campaign

ALWAYS… AT THE HEART OF OUR COMMUNITY

The Château Ramezay has recently launched a project designed to review and update the historical content of its permanent exhibition.  The historical narrative has evolved – several critical aspects of our past require clarification and perspective, particularly the place of Indigenous peoples.  To meet our objectives, we are working closely with a wide range of experts and representatives of various groups.  We also plan to include 75 new objects in the exhibition, which will be accessible via cell phone. This is a contemporary approach to making the most of our rich collections, despite the limited space of our premises.

To carry out this project, the Museum has obtained financial support from the Ministère de la Culture et des Communications du Québec, but the contribution will not fully cover expenses, estimated to be approximately $150,000.  For this reason, we are appealing to the generosity of the community by launching a funding campaign to offset the difference with our budget.

We hope to complete this project and present the new content by July 2024, just in time for the 300th anniversary of the death of Claude de Ramezay, Governor of Montréal and builder of the first Château Ramezay.

If you would like to receive information about our recognition plan for major donations ($10,000 and above), please contact us.

Always… at the heart of our community
Come and pay us a visit!

Last year, the Chateau Ramezay’s professional and volunteer staff marked the Museum’s 125th anniversary with a successful fundraising campaign.  Thanks to generous Montrealers, we raised over $140,000.  If you were one of them, we take this opportunity to thank you again!

Although these funds helped greatly in getting us through the pandemic, our non-profit organization continues to face many challenges. We are therefore appealing once more to our fellow citizens' generosity to assist us this year.

Supporting us may take several forms:

  • Pay us a visit!  (We are hosting two new temporary exhibitions). Tickets are an important source of revenue for us.
  • Make a tax-deductible donation (see the links below to make an online donation or to download our form).
  • Join the team as a volunteer guide!  Come to our Open House on Monday, September 26, for more details. Become part of the Chateau’s large family, which already has over 100 members. You may also write to rh@chateauramezay.qc.ca

The Château is a museum run for, and by, the community.  Your precious support enables us to continue our mission:  preserving our heritage and educating the public, young and old, from near and far.

In hoping we can count on your continued collaboration.

Contribute to the Château in order to…
•    Maintain and enhance our educational services focused on young people
